Hi, I’m Shannon.
About my work
I design elegant systems for ambitious projects.
My forte is process and communication design for a variety of health sciences disciplines, and consulting/liaison work for teens and adults with ASDs. Making complex subjects easier to understand is a great joy of mine, and it is increasingly important work as we all parse the vast quantities of information we encounter in everyday life now.
My area of expertise is bioscience and healthcare, but I work with all organizations and practitioners who are strongly motivated by knowledge, exploration, and helping other people. My clients are skillful professionals in all stages of business development, from ambitious thesis/dissertation authors to seasoned pros who want to refine their business identity or develop new programs.
I love working with life sciences teams, research labs, psychotherapists, allied health professionals, specialized education services, professional and peer support services, health promotion organizations and non-profits, and patient-centered medical, dental, and rehab practices.
I have been fascinated with form and function since I was a toddler behind my mother’s artist stall in the Pike Place Market. After flirting with engineering and architecture, I studied graphic design at the Art Institute of Seattle and culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu Miami. Growing up with one foot in Seattle and the other in the historic center of Flint, Michigan, I have faith that people can shape their futures and potential, I understand the necessity of discarding outdated concepts, and I appreciate the importance of preserving the best parts of our collective foundation.
The permanent collection of the Flint Institute of Arts, the Flint School of Performing Arts, and the Griffith Observatory have deeply influenced my work and design philosophy. My core influences are the work of Georgia O’Keeffe and Edmund Lewandowski, the Seattle-area architect John Savo, and the Constructivism, Precisionism, and Futurism movements.
I am devoted to community education, support, and outreach. I’m a five-term board member and past president of the Washington State Astrological Association, and involved with Meetup.com as an organizer or founder of numerous groups, including Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing) of Puget Sound, the Seattle Meetup Organizers Meetup Group, and Seattle Astrology Study Meetup.
Quite a few years ago, the internet nicknamed me clover so you will see that sprinkled around my social and online usernames. I live in Miami Seattle with my husband, our pixie-bob cat, and a pond full of ducks.
